Commonly Used Heating Systems in Commercial Buildings

To maintain warmth within a building, and no individual heating system is the right type for all commercial buildings when factoring maintenance, reliability, and costs. Meta description:

As the winter season is gradually coming to an end and spring is approaching, the weather is still cool. Warmth is one of the things that we can’t live without, and it is necessary for ensuring our health and comfort in environments with low outdoor temperatures. Both residential and commercial indoor heating systems are essential in combatting the outdoor elements, keeping our environment warm, comfortable, and safe from the harsh cold that occurs through the seasons. There are many ways to maintain warmth within a building, and no individual heating system is the right type for all commercial buildings when factoring maintenance, reliability, and costs. Listed below are some of the common heating systems used in commercial buildings.

Boilers

A commonly used heating system for providing central heating to a commercial property is the use of boilers. Commercial boilers are typically used for heating large properties and are an integral part of commercial HVAC systems. Running on oil, gas, and in some instances electricity, boilers send hot water or steam flowing through pipes, distributing heat to rooms throughout the property.

Heat Pump

Heat pump systems function by removing heat from the air and distributing it back into the property. Unlike boilers, heat pump systems don’t rely on a fuel source, such as oil or gas. Although heat pump heating systems don’t function as well during extreme cold with below-freezing temperatures, they can be very energy-efficient and cost-efficient to buildings and are ideal for maintaining a set temperature in a commercial building.

Furnace

Furnaces are another commonly used heating system that can be operated by electricity, gas, or oil. When properly maintained, they can be reliable and efficient systems used for heating a building. Furnaces operate by blowing heated air through ducts delivering warmth to rooms throughout a property.
