Here are ways you can tell that you shouldn’t be working with your current HVAC technician.
As temperatures change for the fall season, checking on your HVAC system is going to be an important part of home preparation. You want to have the right person working on your HVAC system, but not all technicians are going to be suitable for the job. Here are ways you can tell that you shouldn’t be working with your current HVAC technician.
They Aren’t Professional
If you’re going to work with an HVAC technician, they should conduct themself in a professional manner. If you find that they’re late, not in uniform, or lacking crucial pieces of equipment, they’re likely not the technician for you. Any technician you hire should act professionally at all times.
They Don’t Communicate Well
Good communication with the customer is important, regardless of profession. This means that your HVAC technician should be an effective communicator with you, making sure your questions and concerns are swiftly addressed. They should also be an effective listener. You don’t want to work with an HVAC technician who is unreceptive to any feedback you give them. It’s you who needs to be satisfied at the end of the day, and your HVAC technician should strive to offer that customer satisfaction.
Sudden Changes in Prices
Something you should never see is a sudden change in the price of services that your HVAC technician provides. They should be transparent about everything with you. They should be clear about what services they’re providing, what the timeframe will be for providing those services, and what the final cost will be. A lack of transparency can often mean a lack of trustworthiness as well.
They’re Rude
It’s good to observe the mannerisms of your HVAC technician. Your technician should be polite and professional for the entire time that they’re working with you. If they start leaving messes behind when they leave, or they appear to rush through their work, these are signs that your HVAC technician doesn’t have your best interests at heart. In situations like these, it’s good to stop working with your current technician, and look into other ones in your area instead.
